At School I had learnt the proverb :
For Want of a Nail
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
And the breaking news today is that for want of computer chips entire industries (~200) from cars to household gadgets are being impacted. https://in.finance.yahoo.com/news/these-industries-are-hit-hardest-by-the-global-chip-shortage-122854251.html
And for want of learning power ( https://youtu.be/JxWybvns1jg) the youth is likely to become part of the useless class ( https://youtu.be/OMDlfNWM1fA). It’s time to be reminded of Vivekanand’s exhortation of “ Arise, awake and do not stop till the goal is reached”.
And the goal is to develop a Scientific temper and become invaluable, not useless. The path is self-learning and learning to learn has been emphasised so much in the NEP2020. Developing a Scientific temper has been mentioned 4 at 4 places in the NEP 2020.
